REIKI SYMBOLS
General Table of Contents of the Reiki Symbols Section
Foreword
«Reiki symbols are powerful energetic keys capable of connecting the Reiki practitioner to specific energy frequencies that serve precise purposes. The traditional Reiki symbols, specifically those of the Usui Reiki Method, are four—no more, no less: Choku Rei, Sei Heki, Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, and Dai Ko Myo.
The first three Usui Reiki symbols are taught at the Second Level, while the fourth is passed on at the Third Level.
While these symbols possess their own intrinsic power, they can only be used effectively and to their full potential by those who have been initiated into them through the proper activation procedures.
Over the past few years, much has been discussed about Reiki symbols, and much hypocrisy has surrounded these discussions. This section clearly explains why the symbols should be treated with respect, but they are not secret nor do they necessarily need to be hidden, as they are freely shared in the East.
Respect, moreover, lies in the heart and attitude of the practitioner, not in the observance of rigid ritual rules, such as hiding the symbols at all costs, not folding the papers on which they are written, or burning these papers when no longer needed.
It is precisely this rigidity that has led to the fact that today at least 70% of Usui Reiki teachers do not possess the correct Master Symbol, Dai Ko Myo! It is time to turn the page and take responsibility, as teachers, for transmitting Usui Reiki with the tools (including the symbols) that belong to the traditional Usui system. This means respecting the student and honoring their right to know the Original Usui Reiki.»
