Nin Giz Zida, Eleventh Symbol of the Advanced Karuna® Reiki Method
A POWERFUL MODERN EVOLUTION OF DR. MIKAO USUI'S ORIGINAL REIKI METHOD
NIN GIZ ZIDA
Nin Giz Zida is the eleventh symbol of the Advanced Karuna® Reiki Method. It is known as the Tibetan Fire Serpent.
While Dumo represents the heat of the Kundalini, Nin Giz Zida represents the Kundalini itself in action. This universal energy reservoir, coiled like a serpent in the 1st chakra, rises when awakened and, once free from blockages such as trauma or energetic knots, ascends through the upper chakras, reaching the 7th. This is a process that leads to enlightenment and transcendence to higher levels of consciousness.
The terms Nin Giz Zida and Tibetan Fire Serpent both trace back to Mesopotamia in Sumerian culture. Nin Giz Zida means "Lord of the Good Tree" and symbolizes a divine, magical, fertile, harmonious, and upright expression.
What Are Nadi? Nadi is a Sanskrit term meaning tube or channel. These energy channels carry prana, Chi, or Ki (life force energy). The human body has 72,000 Nadi, through which four types of energy flow: Vyana, Sapana, Apana, and Prana. These energies circulate throughout the physical body and the seven chakras. Out of the 72,000 Nadi, three are primary: Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna. The Nadi govern the energetic, physical, and nervous systems.
Sushumna starts at the first chakra, Muladhara, and travels to the seventh chakra, Sahasrara, at the top of the head, passing through the other five chakras. This channel activates through conscious and balanced breathing, facilitating the passage of Kundalini, the energetic serpent coiled at the base of Muladhara. Ida and Pingala coil around Sushumna like two serpents, carrying feminine/negative and masculine/positive energy, alternating in their function.
Ida represents feminine, negative, and lunar energy. Physically, it supports the digestive system and aids enzymatic secretion. Ida is connected to the left nostril, and it acts on the mental level, carrying cold, negative, feminine energy.
Pingala governs vital processes. It runs from the left side to the right side, controlling life systems and encouraging the ego. Physically, Pingala activates metabolism, stimulates adrenaline, and increases heart rate. Pingala represents masculine, positive, and solar energy.
Working with Nin Giz Zida stimulates the awakening of Kundalini, potentially leading to the development of extraordinary new abilities.
Nin Giz Zida is also used to connect the chakras, preparing for activation during initiation procedures. The arc is traced above the crown, and the serpent is drawn down the spine, ending with a spiral at its base. During treatments or meditation, Nin Giz Zida can be used to link the chakras, as well as for countless other purposes depending on personal sensitivity.
«The true violence is the one we inflict on ourselves when we are afraid to express who we really are.»
