Visualization Exercise with the Reiki Symbol Dai Ko Myo
Visualization Exercise with the Dai Ko Myo Symbol and the other symbols of the Second Degree
«I believe it is essential for those approaching Reiki to fully open their hearts and pay attention to their inner feelings. Only in this way can they recognize who among the diverse market of spiritual practices might be trying to deceive them; only then can they find a "master" who truly teaches Reiki, who handles the energy with a spirit of humility, loyalty, and love, and who is professionally prepared, not merely focused on personal gain or ego. However, this sensitivity should not only be directed outward. Since Reiki is a powerful tool for transformation, it should be clearly stated that each person should also feel within themselves when the right moment to receive it arrives.»

VISUALIZATION EXERCISE
WITH THE 4 REIKI SYMBOLS
Introduction: How to Use the Reiki Symbols
«After you have memorized the sequence of strokes for the symbols as a Reiki practitioner of the second and third degrees and have drawn them harmoniously and satisfactorily on paper, you can use the Reiki symbols in various ways:
Drawing them in the air with your dominant hand (while the other hand rests on the heart chakra - 4th chakra). Each symbol should be drawn about 40-60 cm in size, using the fingertips with taut tendons. For larger drawings, you can use the palm of your hand. This method is recommended for beginners in their initial applications of the second degree, but is primarily used for cleansing, protecting, and energizing spaces or for 'charging' certain objects.
Mentally drawing them stroke by stroke. This method involves the use of imagination and stimulates psychic sensitivity (6th chakra or third eye). Each symbol is drawn piece by piece on the 'inner screen' of closed eyes, as if a pen is at the bridge of the nose. This method is the most common practice, which can lead to direct visualization after long use.
Visualizing them almost immediately in their entirety. Direct visualization is a talent of our psychic sensitivity, which does not manifest equally in everyone, but can be developed through practice. It can be useful to fix the symbol on paper for a few minutes and then, with closed eyes, retain the image for as long as possible or project it onto a homogeneous surface with open eyes.
Intending them. Through continuous practice, the intent can be focused on the different vibrations of the symbols so that they are understood energetically. It is as if each symbol has its own flavor, an energetic sound that we become familiar with and can recognize and invoke. This method is realized through long practice of intent on the symbols. Intention is much more than mere will: Intention is the factor that tells you that you can still achieve something when the mind tells you that you are already defeated.
Each of these four methods is effective on its own. I remind you that the symbols of the second Reiki degree can literally be 'shot,' meaning they are sent out with force while continuing to visualize them and pronounce their name/mantra. However, things change for Dai Ko Myo: It is not sent out like the previous ones, but you identify with the symbol, invoking that calm and stillness within you that is typical of theta waves. The more you recognize yourself in the light and stillness, the more powerfully the sent Dai Ko Myo becomes.
Visualization Exercise with Dai Ko Myo
and the Reiki Symbols of the Second Degree
The complete visualization of the symbols or their energetic understanding is a process achieved after a certain training period. Although it is possible to practice visualizing the symbols partially and progressively by building them step by step in front of your 6th chakra (mental drawing), the goal of complete visualization or understanding is to close your eyes and see the symbol in the shortest possible time before the 'inner eye,' or feel its energy.
Here is an exercise you should practice often and regularly:
Sit comfortably, relax, and close your eyes.
Draw with your hands in front of your 6th chakra, at arm's length, the 4th symbol, Dai Ko Myo, the 3rd symbol (HON SHA ZE SHO NEN), the 2nd symbol (SEI HEKI), and the 1st symbol (CHOKU REI). Each of them should be drawn a few centimeters in front of the previous one.
Now, place both hands, side by side and open, behind the first drawn symbol, DAI KO MYO. Slowly push the symbols into your 6th chakra and feel their vibrational quality.
As each of them enters, say their name three times (in the order: 'CHOKU REI, CHOKU REI, CHOKU REI, SEI HEKI, SEI HEKI, SEI HEKI, HON SHA ZE SHO NEN, HON SHA ZE SHO NEN, HON SHA ZE SHO NEN, DAI KO MYO, DAI KO MYO, DAI KO MYO').
Repeat the same process, but mentally draw the symbols (without hands) and push them into your 6th chakra through your imagination (visualize the etheric hands pushing). Feel them and say their names in the same order as before.
Repeat the same process with complete visualization: Visualize the symbols completely, one after the other, one in front of the other near the forehead, visualize their entry into the 6th chakra, and repeat their names. Feel the energetic quality of each symbol.»
