It was even taught during seminars that the names should not be spoken, nor the symbols shown, in the presence of those who had not reached the Second Level. In 1999, with the book The True Story of Reiki, co-written with Frank Arjava Petter—the discoverer of Usui's manual and tomb—I caused an even greater stir by shattering the rigidity, clichés, and countless inaccuracies surrounding both the history and methodological practice of Reiki.»
