Protection During a Reiki Treatment

 

«As a Reiki practitioner, you are energetically protected from any disharmonious influences that may come from the person receiving the treatment. Energetic imbalances related to illnesses are not absorbed, so you do not need the same protective practices that a healer might use to safeguard their health. This protection manifests to some extent even with the First Degree, but it is through the conscious use of the Second Degree that its full potential is realized.

GROUNDING
Grounding allows you to discharge any disharmonious influences through your feet (without rubber soles).

CHANNELING
The energy you continuously channel through Reiki strengthens your natural energetic emanation.

INVOCATION
Invoking protection (mentally requesting, for example: "I ask the universe to protect and shield me during this treatment from any disharmonious influence!") serves as an additional reinforcement of your protection.

 

 

 

Protection from People, Environments, Places, Situations

 

You may encounter highly disharmonious individuals who, either unintentionally or intentionally, "absorb" energy from you, leaving you feeling drained or nauseous. In reality, it is more a lowering of your vibrational frequency, perceived as depletion or energy loss.

Similarly, you may find yourself in an environment or location that is very disharmonious, and you become aware of the discomfort or unease it causes. Reiki helps you become more consciously aware of these disharmonies; this awareness precedes the actual possibility of "energetic lowering," enabling you to react in time.

How to React: You can either leave the situation or "fight" using the tools you have—or better yet, with the magic you possess: light, love, and strength. In practice, while awaiting the use of the Second Degree Symbols (should you wish to deepen your knowledge of the Reiki Method), you can employ a simple and effective technique that consists of three elements to be combined: the mudra of triple closure, appropriate visualization, and a suitable intention.

MUDRA OF TRIPLE CLOSURE
First, cross your arms (in a relaxed, non-aggressive manner), and then place both thumbs between your index and middle fingers. This power position seals you energetically and initially predisposes you to greater calm, which is useful for managing the situation optimally.

VISUALISATION OF LIGHT
While in the defensive position, visualize a strong light emanating from your heart, expanding and surrounding your entire body in the form of a splendid golden luminous egg. Keep your focus on the fact that you are protected, never on the danger.

MENTAL VERBALIZATION OF THE PROTECTION INTENT
Intend to protect yourself! Declare your intention to be protected to the universe (or, if you prefer, you can address a specific Master, such as Jesus, Buddha, or Sai Baba): "I ask the universe to protect and shield me during this situation from any disharmonious influence."

 

 

Expressing Love: If you feel up to it, you can send an intention of love and a visualization of light to the person in front of you or to the environment around you. Imagine a splendid emerald green light emanating from your heart, nourishing with love whatever you feel needs it. Love is never wasted, and it is always worth expressing, even when it's difficult. Everyone can use Reiki, but Reiki's strength lies in the heart. The power of Reiki grows exponentially when you open your heart. Reiki is a power of love.»
