EFFECTS OF THE REIKI INITIATION AT THE FIRST LEVEL

 

 

How the Reiki Initiation is Conducted and What It Determines

 

«The traditional First Degree attunement consists of four ceremonies, or initiations. These practices always constitute the irreplaceable foundation of the Reiki method. Anyone who believes they are practicing Reiki without having received these attunements is, in reality, only working with their personal energy.

The First Degree attunements are simple ceremonies shared with the Reiki Master, who—using cosmic symbols, visualization practices, and their own intent—‘purifies and illuminates’ the Reiki channels.

These are not mysterious procedures or occult magical practices: the occult has absolutely nothing to do with Reiki! The attunements take place in a calm environment, in an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation, sitting comfortably and at peace with oneself.

No one in the world knows for certain what exactly happens during a Reiki initiation: what is certain is the outcome, that is, from that moment on, you become an active channel of Vital Energy.

On an intuitive level, it can be felt that the Reiki initiation harmonizes our personal energy (2nd chakra) with cosmic energy (through the 7th chakra) at the heart level (4th chakra).

The Reiki channels, which are invisible but real energy corridors, are reactivated and connected to our energy centers. These centers, or chakras, allow our unity of body, mind, spirit, and soul to be constantly supplied with cosmic energy and enable a conscious reconnection with our ‘energy body.’

Through the experience of attunement, which brings us joy, serenity, and the awareness of a new sense of being, Reiki flows freely within us. There is a clear feeling of having an unlimited amount of energy at our disposal, and of being able to give it freely to anyone who needs it; and this with the certainty that the more energy we give, the more it flows through us to recharge and harmonize us.

The energy we channel—which we humbly act as conduits for—is often described as ‘intelligent’ because it flows according to the needs of the recipient and acts precisely where it is needed.

 

 

 

Detoxification and Transformation

 

Already during the attunement, a transformation begins within us:

On the PHYSICAL LEVEL, Reiki triggers general detoxification processes that lead to a gradual and progressive elimination of toxins; it helps combat the damage caused by air and noise pollution and poor diet; it enhances the immune system; alleviates both acute and chronic pain; helps regenerate tissues and reactivate the functions of all organs by harmonizing the circulatory, lymphatic, endocrine, digestive, and urinary systems; it helps to balance the nervous and autonomic nervous systems, contributing significantly to a pleasant state of relaxation and muscle relaxation.

On the EMOTIONAL LEVEL, the energy rebalancing effectively counters the discomforts that humans face daily and naturally helps to recognize and process old traumas, conflicts, feelings of inadequacy, and guilt. Reiki promotes inner peace and tranquility.

On the MENTAL LEVEL, it restores freshness and clarity; helps eliminate obsessive thoughts and overcome small fixations; stimulates concentration during activity and relaxation during rest. It promotes clarity of ideas and the ability to connect thoughts. It facilitates the translation of abstract or intuitive elements from the right hemisphere of the brain into the rational plane of the left hemisphere, promoting their integration.

On the SPIRITUAL LEVEL, Reiki indirectly helps through feeling, by awakening and enhancing intuitive abilities and those related to psychic sensitivity. Reiki helps to tear down the veil of Maya (the illusion that covers the true face of things) between humans and the reality that surrounds them, allowing them to perceive things in the broader perspective of cosmic balance; thus, if one feels targeted by fate, or by some illness or signal from their body that was previously only latent, the acceptance perspective of Reiki can help them understand that they are going through a period of transformation, an individual metamorphosis process, and profound inner growth, which should not be avoided. In the universe, there is no such thing as chance.

 

 

Everything happens within a cosmic logic. Reiki helps each person to sense the infinite messages that the external world constantly sends them and that usually escape their normal, conditioned, distracted, and lazy attention.

Latent disorders, which until then were kept at bay at the cost of high energy expenditure, may eventually emerge but only to be recognized, processed, and ‘healed’ in acceleration; indeed, Reiki strongly accelerates any healing process.

This ‘purification,’ which is mainly observed on a physical level, is simply a reflection of much broader cleansing processes occurring within the individual’s entire being. Personal energy (Ki), towards which sensitivity is refined, becomes one with cosmic energy.

The frequency of one’s energy vibration increases, consequently changing consciousness at all levels: through the heart chakra, the unity of body, emotions, mind, and spirit opens up to a potential ‘understanding’ of cosmic laws. By acting on the heart level, Reiki invites and encourages each initiate to shift their center from the 3rd chakra (Ego, will to power) to the 4th chakra (unconditional love), transforming their selfishness, personal importance, and presumption into a quest for the total Self, the One-All, and their will to power into the power of will, intent, and realization.

The divine presence of ‘I Am’ is more easily recognized. From the moment one receives the First Degree attunement, Reiki flows within the initiate forever! Initiation means: the beginning of something wonderful!»
